Discover Mountain View’s forgotten wine history and the winemakers and vineyards that shaped the region long before Silicon Valley.

Registration is recommended: https://mountainview.libcal.com/event/16841787

Seating is limited. Walk-ins are also welcome.

Before Silicon Valley, before the apricot orchards, this region was wine country. From the first vines planted at Mission Santa Clara in 1798 to more than 100 wineries operating across Santa Clara County by the 1890s, the South Bay was once one of California’s most productive wine regions.

Join us for a presentation by fourth-generation Mountain View resident and museum professional Julie Bly DeVere. She will present a lively look at the winemakers, vineyards, and forgotten history that shaped our local landscape long before the tech industry arrived.
